P.E., Music, Art

Those vital extras

Physical Education

Twice-per-week, Community School students enjoy a variety of athletic games on the blacktop or in the ICS Lyceum. These range from basketball to broom hockey to four-square. Keeping young bodies active is essential, and it prepares them for spring-weather contests of Capture the Flag or soccer.

Music

Twice-per-week, our students receive music instruction from a District music teacher. This exposes them to various instruments and varieties of music. Fourth- and fifth-grade students may also engage in Orchestra or Band, taught at nearby Kirkland Middle School.

Art

Throughout the year, parent-led art classes walk students through numerous forms of self-expression. Past projects have included wire-frame animals, pastel self-portraits and ceramic Halloween monsters. It's all part of the fun at Community School.
